The restaurant they were at had a lot of military people eating there too. She said a young GI must have overheard their conversation and was looking at her and smiling.
At first she said she couldn't figure out who he was looking at, then finally realized it was her :-)
I scold her for watching FAUX News, but it made one military guy's day, sounds like!
