Constantly amazed by how people still seem to believe that we’re a “divided country” and that political races that end somewhere between 52/48 split are “normal”. Beggars belief.

Saw an earlier post about there being a lunar eclipse on Election Day.

My weirdest interest is astronomical calendars so I thought I’d take a look. Turns out that day is 13 Dog on the Sacred Round, which properly interpreted is “Fullness of Anguish”.

Whose anguish? I dunno. But I have a feeling there’s going to be some weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Biblical, you might say.

P.S. - I know some anon is going to come on here claiming that it’s not actually 13 Dog. I’m not interested in arguing about that. For those who are mildly interested just know that GMT was a compromise, not a scientifically based decision, and the proper “start date” has been identified but not recognized by the establishment (imagine that).

Edit: seems that no one cares but just fyi a bit of further research turned up that in Tarot, the 13th card is “Death”. I can pretty much guarantee you that even though no one here cares, the DS folks do.

I imagine they have the right to refuse service based on whatever criteria they want to put in.

As we move into the next stage of this I just want to say how much I appreciate this community.

I don’t agree with a lot of what gets said here.

I don’t like some of the attitudes and philosophies that dominate the discussion.

I think we’re far too much like those we profess to be fighting against.

But I love having a place to come and fight the good fight, share my thoughts, opinions, and information, and feel that I’m doing what I can to stop this slide into hell we’ve started down.

My wife headed out of town so I was on kid duty.

Had to take my youngest to her gymnastics class.

Was standing there watching her like the proud papa I am when another one of the dads noticed my shirt and started up a conversation with me.

Turns out he’s a California refugee who managed to escape.

For 45 minutes he told me about his awakening experience… without any prompting.
