My Dad's Diagnosis 🧘Mental/Physical Health 🏋🏼‍♂️
posted ago by WinnerofGames ago by WinnerofGames

TLDR: Pericarditis from Flu Shot; Worsened by Virus

About three weeks ago, after taking the flu shot required for his job, my dad began experiencing dull aches and radiating chest pain. Last week, the situation worsened, and he drove himself to the hospital due to chest pains, despite my mom’s concerns. Tests revealed an abnormal heartbeat.

What Happened Last Night (12/12): I was up late working on school applications when I noticed my dad’s light was still on, which was unusual. When I checked on him, he was sitting up, wincing in pain with the heater on. I asked if he was alright, but he insisted he was fine. Not convinced, I called my mom (who was at work) to speak with him and woke up my siblings.

As we stayed with him, his condition worsened—he started saying he couldn’t breathe. I called 911, and while waiting for paramedics, my siblings worked to keep him conscious.

When the paramedics arrived, his blood pressure was 80/50, and his heart rate had dropped to 44. They rushed him to the hospital, and we followed shortly after.

At the Hospital: He was admitted after hours of waiting and was given several rounds of morphine to manage his pain, which had him grunting constantly. Some more medicines to elevate his bpm and bp. Eventually, his vitals were stabilized. My sister and mom, who had rushed from work, stayed by his side as I left the hospital around 5 AM.

Diagnosis: This morning, doctors diagnosed him with pericarditis—inflammation and fluid buildup around the heart. They believe the likely cause was a respiratory infection from a cold he had weeks ago. However, we can’t ignore that these issues began after his flu shot, which raises concerns.

The doctors have an action plan:

He will take prescribed medication twice daily for the next three months.

Aspirin, three times a day for one week, will also help reduce the inflammation.

Surgery is being avoided for now, as they hope the fluid will drain with medication.

If everything goes well, he might be discharged in a day or two.

Reflection: I’m grateful to God for His timing—I wasn’t even supposed to be awake but happened to notice something was off. If I hadn’t been there, the situation could have ended much differently.

I’m angry that he took the shot in the first place, and even angrier that the medical industry once again beguiled someone into believing it was entirely safe and necessary.

My dad has always been cautious about his health, especially after my mom’s remission. Even before the pandemic, he was skeptical about medical interventions like COVID vaccines (even though he took them -_-). However, he took the flu vaccine only because his job required it, despite his reservations. Until that point, he had no significant health issues. Now, just three weeks later, he’s hospitalized. It’s infuriating to see yet another example of someone’s health being damaged because of what was supposed to “protect” them.

The medical industry, with all its promises, has left us to deal with the fallout. How can something that is meant to safeguard public health result in this kind of harm? My dad didn’t deserve this, and neither does anyone else who places their trust in these institutions, only to have their lives disrupted—or worse—because of it. This wasn’t just a coincidence; the timing is too exact. He was perfectly fine before, and now this happened.

It’s beyond frustrating to feel powerless in the face of an industry that seems to prioritize profit over individual well-being. My hope is that he recovers quickly, that we find accountability, and that others aren’t deceived the same way.

Please pray for my dad’s recovery, that the inflammation subsides, and that no further complications arise.

Thank you if you read all of this.

What happens to the electoral vote count if the President steps down before January 6, making the Vice President the new President and leaving the nation without a Vice President?

  1. Can Congress still certify the election winner on January 6 without a VP to oversee the process, as required by law?

  2. Would the process be delayed until a new VP is nominated and confirmed?

  3. Could representatives object to the electoral vote count due to the absence of a VP?

  4. Would Congress use another official to oversee the process, and would the legality of doing so require litigation?

Context: The winner of a U.S. presidential election is not officially determined until January 6, when Congress counts the electoral votes. On that day, the Vice President, acting as President of the Senate, oversees the certification process.

If the President resigns on January 1, the VP automatically becomes President under the Constitution and the Presidential Succession Act, leaving no VP in place. While the new President could nominate a replacement VP, Congress would need to confirm that nominee, which could take time.

If no VP is in place by January 6 and objections arise in Congress about the electoral vote count, the process could be delayed or disrupted. Without a completed electoral vote count, the new President and VP cannot be formally recognized.

Hypothetical Outcome: If the January 6 count is incomplete or fails to occur, the new President and VP would not be sworn in on January 20. At the same time, the outgoing administration’s term would expire, creating a power vacuum in the White House. This situation would lead to legal disputes, congressional stalemates, and a constitutional crisis.

Given with what happened following the 2020 election, it seems unlikely that Congress would allow such a delay.

They wouldn't try to delay the count again after 2020 right? /s

Unless they plan for a new January 6

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, asking for Your power and truth to reign over this election. We pray for victory for DJT and for all those who seek to serve Your will. Lord, expose any corruption and bring justice to seats that have been taken unjustly. Let every act of deception be uncovered and bring honor back to this process.

We ask for strength to push back against any blue wave, and for a red sea of truth and righteousness to prevail. Pour out Your Spirit, Father, and let this be a moment that brings much, much more—a renewal of honesty, integrity, and true leadership.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray for Your justice, Your truth, and Your victory.

Amen.

Prayer Request for Coworker 🧘Mental/Physical Health 🏋🏼‍♂️
posted ago by WinnerofGames ago by WinnerofGames

Tldr: Shes stressed about her job, relationship, money, house, and mental health

Help for Coworker?

My coworker, is going through a lot in a bad relationship.

Her boyfriend is unfaithful, engaging in virtual cheating and gaslighting her. They jointly own a house, but she pays rent, and her finances are strained due to a low-paying, stressful job with an abusive boss.

This situation is taking a toll on her mental health, causing frequent crying and illness. She is actively searching for better job opportunities to improve her circumstances and needs prayers and help for success in her job applications.

She seeks the courage to leave her abusive boyfriend, who threatens to leave her homeless if she does so.

He pays for the car, gave her leeway about rent, and is decent when other women don't come up.

Any advice on what to do for her safety, strength, and the courage to make positive changes in her life?

Before, she didn't want to leave because she said she wanted to build a life with him, but after she saw the messages and things he was paying for, she talked with me a bit to figure out what to do.

She's disappointed about the relationship and doesn't want to leave her dog, i think hes in both their names, but the arguing about the women is taking a toll.

She's almost 30.

I gave her some places to check out, a women's shelter etc. online resources and told her to continue saving money and keep job-hunting.

I can't do much since I'm in school and the apt I'm in is shared with 5 other people.
