So why on earth would they be impeaching a man who has 13 days left, especially with such obvious haste and fear?
Because for 13 days he's got the legal reins of the military and and can still hurt them.

They know Trump is still going to come after them.
And in a related story, Trump knows without doubt that if he doesn't take them down, they will commence on day one a global campaign to rub his family and fortune into a messy grease spot.

More than anything that's what convinces me that he's got this under control. No way he would leave himself vulnerable. I do think he may drain the swamp and walk away, though. When you look at really old interviews with Rona Barrett and others, he talks about wishing someone LIKE him would run for President, but always says he wouldn't want to do it. I do believe he did this out of a sense of duty and when it became clear to him that no one else was going to step up. I believe it was his destiny. There are a lot of people helping him and maybe even others that came up with this plan. But no one but Trump could do what I think he is doing. It's a remarkable time to be alive. Historic. Biblical, even. He's going to be in the same league as George Washington. Another guy that didn't want the job.
Trump is an actor in the plan. He was recruited and it was the most brilliant hire ever.
