So why on earth would they be impeaching a man who has 13 days left, especially with such obvious haste and fear?
Because for 13 days he's got the legal reins of the military and and can still hurt them.
They're terrified. He's not done.

Yep, that's exactly right. They show their fear with talk of impeachment or using the 25th. I wonder too, if they know he isn't going to concede. I mean Harris hasn't yet given up her senate seat either.
Better yet, if he "conceded" impeachment/25A is rendered moot anyway

They have control of big tech, media, etc. Why are they so defensive?
Article I, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, ”Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.”
So are they trying to claim they want to impeach him so that he cannot run in 2024?
