We are a .WIN. Not AWS, but, as you can see from the downtime all over the place with the DDoS attacks, we are on CloudFlare. I would imagine that they will get a lot of pressure, too.
It’s still a concern. Cloudflare is what is called a Content Delivery Network. It forms the front end to the web servers which are tucked behind it. (the web servers could be hosted anywhere). If Cloudflare stops service, traffic will not be able to make it to the web servers thus taking the site down.
There are other CDNs out there, but not a lot of them and not a lot of them that can withstand large DDoS attacks.
