The weird thing is, I have ALWAYS set my updates to be manual, not automatic. When I checked my settings tonight, it was set to automatic. Perhaps that was in the prior update and I did not notice? Anyway, I am glad for the heads up or I would have assumed it was still set to manual.

If you look under “About” in your settings, you’ll see “Software version”. That should be 14.2 or below. If that says 14.3 you got the update.
It says 14.3 (18c66) but I looked up the version and it said it was released Dec 14, 2020
Saw that too, but I only got alerts for it today. Sounds like several others were in the same boat too.
Not sure if it was finished then and only pushed tiday?
Apple auto-updates by default when you plug it in and go to sleep. The way to correct it is to disabling the option manually.
Or don’t have WiFi like me and apple can’t push shit
