Different parts of the country do different tests all around. Where I live we hear the test probably two or three times a week on the radio... Sometimes you'll just hear the test noises and it stops and goes back to normal, it never says it was a test or anything.
Which is almost concerning because we've grown indifferent when we hear it, because it's so common.
Interesting, I haven't had any EBS tests or tones yet. Not on any of my devices. It will be the greatest symphony of freedom when I do hear them, though.
I’ve personally seen at least 2 diff videos posted to Twitter the past couple days of people’s TV’s emanating the EBS sound, but no actual messages on the screen; the regular show they were watching was continuing to play.
Heard the sound from my neighbor's tv a while ago but i thought they were just messing around...
Mic 1 check... mic 2 check.. siblings...sibilings Systems check before a show?

This is a first for me. It was from a Savannah station
Savannah GA? Isn't that right next to the base where planes made Q shapes in the sky?
I think stations do a monthly test. I’ve heard that emergency broadcast test message for years.
I literally read your post, looked up ar my DVR and the EAS is on. Turned on the TV. Just the blue screen.
was getting the sound on my ham radio this morning, kept pausing stuff i was listening to to hear what it was going to say as i dont normally hear it.
My wife heard it first in the car she turned that radio up as high as it would go. LOL. Nothing happened but we are so ready!

99% just a test.
But this is good.... :-)
Why test it if you aren’t’ ever gonna use it?
