Since there have been several presidents that have served multiple terms, there have been more inaugurations than presidents. It is the 59th time a president has been inaugurated, it has nothing to do with Trump being 45th or Biden potentially being 46th.
No, I understand that. What I'm saying is that wouldn't it be natural to say the 46th Presidential Inauguration if it were to be Biden? Why would they say 59th, even if it is the 59th total inauguration? They would say 46th Presidential Inauguration, as in the inauguration of the 46th president. Maybe I'm just reading into it a little bit too much, but either way, there has never been a mention of anything going to Biden from the White House or Trump.
