I agree, there is no way that is him. Blunt force trauma, at least some of the victims in that crash were dismembered, and fire burning the bodies. I believe Bryant was identified in part by his tattoos after the crash because his face was disfigured.

There is updated information on the website now about the signed book:

"PLEASE NOTE: PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP WILL HAND SIGN BOOKPLATES FOR THESE BOOKS, HOWEVER WE ARE UNABLE TO PERSONALIZE OR ACCEPT SPECIAL MESSAGING REQUESTS."

Several years ago, I bought a book by Bush 43 (yeah, I know, I've learned a lot since then) that was hand-signed and personalized. It was $250, so $230 for a hand-signed book is in the right ballpark.

The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November is always an election day. It's just that some years have more, bigger issues/offices up for vote.

At the time we were living in Ohio. I had just put my daughter on the school bus and turned on the TV. I didn't usually watch the morning news shows, but that day I turned on "The Today Show" moments before they broke in with the news about the first plane hitting the first tower.

My husband was in the Anaheim, California, area on business and was to fly from Orange County to San Jose that morning. As he usually did, he called me shortly before boarding the plane, and as we were talking I saw the second plane hit the tower. He immediately said it was terrorism. His plane did board, and at first they were delayed. He was on the phone with me again with the pilot came on and told the passengers that there had been attack in New York, that two planes had hit the WTC, and they probably weren't going anywhere any time soon. They deplaned a short time later and picked up their bags from baggage claim. My husband decided to go back to the hotel he had checked out of that morning and got on the hotel shuttle. This particular hotel happened to be a hotel where American and United Airlines crews would stay, so he was on the shuttle with crew from both airlines. Many were in tears and one pilot said that he knew the pilots had to be killed because they wouldn't give up control of the planes without a fight.

After an hour or so, my husband made the decision to rent a car and drive up to San Jose. He got one of the last available cars and ended up staying in San Jose until September 21.

My daughter, who was 8 at the time, remembers coming home from school, getting off the bus, and me hugging her tightly while crying.

I appreciate the feedback. As is the case for many of you, most of my family have gotten the jab, and I just feel so alone with no one to talk to who doesn't roll their eyes and poo-poo my concerns. It's nice to have the support here, it's appreciated.

Current order after Kamala would be Pelosi, Patrick Leahy (as president pro tempore of the Senate), Blinken, and Yellen.

I believe anyone who fulfills the Constitutional requirements (like that matters any more) can be nominated. Look at Gerald Ford, who nominated Nelson Rockefeller as his VP. Rockefeller was not in Congress and in fact had been Governor of NY up until a year before he became VP. I assume that whoever Kamala would want as VP would still need to go through the congressional approval process before being sworn in.

Yep. Rant from a Facebook friend just now:

"New CDC guidance. Latest science shows fully vac are able to carry -- and transmit -- a full viral load of the delta variant even if we are asymptomatic or only have mild symptoms ourselves. So the fully vaccinated in high transmission areas are to return to wearing masks indoors. All y'all screaming about your right to suffer & die of covid instead of getting your shot like a grown ass adult? Just took away OUR right to go indoors without a mask. Thanks. Thanks bunches."

In regards to "parts of the oath" being skipped over, this was talked about in another thread. POTUS and VPOTUS take different oaths of office.

POTUS: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God."

VPOTUS: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."

Some people think Biden not saying the part about all enemies foreign and domestic means a part of the presidential oath was left out. It was not, as the presidential oath has never contained those words.

The Vice President and President take different oaths of office. This is the presidential oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." The vice presidential oath is "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God." All enemies foreign and domestic is only in the VP's oath.

I understand that. My point was that Trump using the 747 AF1 tomorrow does not mean Biden could not have flown in on a military plane today.

When Trump left NYC for his inauguration in 2017, he flew on a US military jet (similar to the smaller planes he used at times for some of his rallies last year). He did not fly on the 747 that most people think of when AF1 is discussed. Biden likely would have been on the same kind of plane Trump used in 2017, and not the 747 Trump will use tomorrow.

I’m not sure what you mean. Obama attended Trump’s inauguration and departed from the Capitol after the ceremony.

2
BuckeyestuckinCA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Does anyone really doubt that the left, knowing Trump asked people to come to DC last week, cooked up what happened at the Capitol precisely so they could impeach him again?

Lord, I want these people to pay for what they've done.

Is it only tweets we are supposed to pay attention to? Scavino has not tweeted since the 7th, but he has posted on Facebook as recently as January 11.

2
BuckeyestuckinCA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Correct, traditionally the outgoing president/first lady meet with the incoming president/first lady prior to the inauguration, and that hasn't happened (and I've heard nothing about it happening in the next week).

Of course, there's enough bad blood that it just may not happen no matter what.

2
BuckeyestuckinCA 2 points ago +2 / -0

It is also tradition for incoming presidents and first ladies to meet with the outgoing president and first lady. As far as I know, Trump has not met with Biden, and Melania has not met with Jill.

May not mean anything, but who knows at this point. Could just be enough bad blood between them that those meetings wouldn't happen no matter what.
