Why are they sleeping there like sleeping on trenches?
If they are not prepared to war, it is just a huge waste of soldier time.

That's probably the first sleep those soldiers have had in over 24 hours.
You take micro-naps, but are fully awake when performing a task.
A soldier can sleep anywhere and be ready at the snap of the fingers. They need their rest. Sleep in shifts. We are winning a war my friend!
Correct. Spent 4 hours asleep at the bottom of a tank, whilst on the move!

Maybe they’re saying it’s to protect the Capitol, but really, at the POTUS’ signal, they can arrest Congress, Biden, Roberts, etc. on Inauguration Day! Probably not, but a girl can dream, right? ?
Another potentially interesting data point about the fact that these are Guardsmen - I haven't seen the orders, but if they've been activated under Title 32 of the US code, which they traditionally operate under, every single one of those soldiers can be deputized and given law enforcement privileges in an instant.

Have you ever been in the military? They aren’t exactly in the battlefield, yet anyway. Even still when there is no action you have people on watch while others sleep.

I can't believe they are there, in full battle gear and combat ready, inside those govt buildings... one WEEK before they're needed!

It looks like the big day is close but not here yet. There’s a patrol who can wake them if needed. Just so thankful for them.
Is there a chance this is staged/fake? Not that I have any idea how to look for that. Does anyone else have that talent who can put eyes on this?
