I do not believe Trump knows the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
I have yet to see a clip of him clearly explaining eternal life is a free gift, not of works or good deeds, which is received by trusting Christ.
Many people are deceived and believe they must do good deeds or promise to stop sinning to get to heaven. Q seems to believe this as well.
But the bible is clear, if you trust Christ plus works, you will not receive the grace of God.
"Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace." - Galatians 5:4 KJV
"And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." - Romans 11:6 KJV
God is still using Donald Trump. If you are hanging over a cliff and a man who does not know Christ offers his hand to pull you up, do you say he is not worthy to save you, or do you take his hand and be pulled up from the cliff? Donald will find Christ in his own way, his heart is good and I will not judge his beliefs. God bless Donald Trump.
I don’t think that Trump has had a whole lot of time to EXPLAIN the teachings of grace vs. good works in public, do you? As I see it, he hoped and asked for grace through the various ministers who often prayed before his meetings. Then he took action. Your other points are well taken.
I don’t think all Christian faiths view grace the same. Many view it this way (including mine): Christ paid our debt and is our new ‘creditor’, so to speak. He sets new terms to the contact - terms we can actually achieve. Essentially He takes our best effort and fills in the rest.
I agree that, while Trump has done a lot of good, I don’t see him as a highly spiritual person. Is he Christian? I don’t know him that well tbh so my view could be very colored by fake news.
I believe Jesus is our Lawyer/Advocate.
So when you stand to be judged, he stands in front of your sins...then you will be judged only on your goodness, kindness, empathy, things you did out of love. Sins washed away by faith, only thing left to judge is your goodness.
I think maybe we believe similar things. As long as you define faith like James (faith without works is dead) - then I think it’s sort of the same idea, maybe slightly different.
Just had this argument(discussion) with a coworker. His #1 point was he didnt like trump. #2 trump is a dishonest man. #3 Coworkers beliefs about Jesus are: works = salvation.
1: I argue he doesnt know Trump, therefore his opinion is based off of (Insert tv,network, film) and not the actual man is baseless. He concedes.
2: i havent heard/seen Trump lie any time. As for his business dealings, playing the game and winning isnt dishonest. (Coworker referenced a film about trump beating bankers at their own game, i.e. he borrowed X, then asked for Y more lest he bankrupts and said lenders lose out 100%. He got more money. Winning!)
3# well, i dont want to rehash that again, to each their own.
Final thoughts, God sets up kings and nations, and he also knocks em down at His pleasure. End of story!
I agree that our view of Trump is very distorted. I have family who still don’t view him as a good man (although they voted for him). He is definitely imperfect, definitely not a saint - but I think if we were to contrast this man to the snakes he’s fighting - he absolutely shines.
"And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith" - Philippians 3:9 KJV

Saul was a murder
The disciples were fishermen, rough loud and crude men
God chooses who to work through and loves to pick them up from the gutter
Listen to Kim Clement talk about Trump, he is not a religious man but a praying man, and God is working through him, recognize!
Yes. There is none righteous, no not one. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
That's why we need Christ to give us eternal life, because we can't live good enough to earn it.

I've always believed Trump is a man built up and put in place by God.
I pray for Trump to be strong and I thank God for sending him.
Ultimately, I give God the glory. Trump will (continue to) have my gratitude and prayers for him.
Yes, that's my hope

Agreed.
So you're saying Trump doesn’t subscribe to the false doctrine of faith alone? Even more reason for me to trust him.
Faith alone is the gospel!
"And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith" - Philippians 3:9 KJV
Nowhere does it say faith alone. Faith alone is worthless. It's what one does with his faith that matters. Works.
