Hahahahahaha. Their subs can't travel very far without surfacing, they're diesel-electric. 50-60's era, too. So they're noisy AF. The U.S. Navy's sub hunters can spot them so fast and early enough, they will never stand a chance. I'm talking, like DOZENS of miles away, close to 100 with our current sonar tech.
Granted diesel subs are loud as fuck when snorkeling in engine, but they are a ghost on battery. Could NK have upgraded their batteries with our current battery tech? Maybe.

They've likely retro-fitted older subs to be able to carry a very small number of these things, since they're so fucking huge.
