Right, but based on what happened specifically with the DACA situation and EO; SCOTUS DID just in fact rule that it is more difficult than otherwise expected for a POTUS to undo a predecessor's EOs.
Are you familiar with what happened with the DACA situation?
Guaranteed it was, at some point. The USA, so racist that everyone wants to come here. Weird.
I just looked it up:
"We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies. 'The wisdom' of those decisions 'is none of our concern,'" Roberts wrote in his opinion. "We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action."
What I recall reading is the ruling ultimately came down to a procedural nitpick, but the way SCOTUS ruled, it does supposedly make future POTUS EO's more difficult for a future admin to un-do.
NOT impossible, but just more difficult.
Even Trump himself was interviewed shortly after the ruling (I don't think it was specifically about the case, it just came up) and he used some pretty astounding language along the lines of it was surprising how much power SCOTUS says the office of the Presidency has, due to this DACA ruling.
Like I said; I didn't save any articles, so I'll see if I can find some that outline what I'm trying to say.

Vaguely. And you’re right, my search was not constrained by date, so that’s pointless right there.
Re: DACA, Yeah, I think I remember that: DJT intended to revoke the “illegal immigrant amnesty dreamer thing“ and Scotus overruled, right?
Do you know if their decision was based on an interpretation of executive power or on specifics about the previous EO itself?

Yeah, I believe this is correct.
