I saw a couple a few weeks ago, just circling above us for a minute and then they flew off. Usually, they just swoop by, but this time they hung around a minute. Very cool.
Not long ago, my sister and I were sitting on the patio together. Suddenly, I saw a look of complete and utter amazement come over her face. I turned to look but was too late. Whatever she saw was gone.
It was a bald eagle. In Los Angeles County, in the San Gabriel Valley, about two miles south of the mountains. We've lived in this valley for over fifty years and neither of us had ever seen one in the area. It was soaring low, only about telephone pole-height, and flew directly over her house.
The kicker? As if that wasn't spectacular enough? It was Election Day.
I saw 2 the other day as well, perched in a tree, an adult and a younger one with its junior feathers. I've been seeing A LOT of other raptor birds, like hawks and falcons, way more than I ever see in one place at one time. God is sending us signs through the animals He commands. The Holy Spirit often takes the form of a bird (usually a dove, but sometimes types of eagles).
Awesome sight. Good thing you weren’t some Commie liberal hipster, you could have gone off the road and crashed.
