Andrews is one of those bunker/headquarters/comms facilities that are placed around the country. I'd love to have him do some sort of switcheroo where they think he's on the plane and he's down in the bunker directing/watching all the activity.
I remember seeing some documentaries on the VC25 jet when Bush was riding around in it. Col. Tillmann, his pilot, would only say "The President and his staff are very well protected." They never went into details. I'd assume that the plane itself could defend its passengers.
