I didn't know. Thanks for the explanation. I am not young. I am old. I just never watched Bugs Bunny. It was funny when I thought it was a typo and it's funnier now that I know the reference. Appreciate it.
You must get caught up on Bugs Bunny! There is so much hidden in those cartoons- not like cabal stuff but just funny political stuff from the days gone by. Plus it’s just dang funny. I recommend starting with the Robin Hood episode followed by the Hatfields and McCoys episode. Then the ones with the singing frog that would only sing when no one else was looking. Also Foghorn Leghorn is the best.
I was kinda a slave to the TV in the 60s on Saturday morning , eating my Wheaties at the coffee table and reading the cereal box during the commercials.
And, sadly, it turns out to be a semi-racist reference. I didn't know until I started to research the term. It's origins lead also to the term "marooned." It has to do with slavery in the Caribbean. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maroons
Don't get me wrong. I love Bugs Bunny and the whole Merrie Melodies gang. Sidesplitting humor! But we need to understand words that are no longer in currency.
What a maroon
I think you mean moron, but "what a maroon" is really funny!!!
It's from an old Bugs Bunny cartoon
