I'm still trying to understand what happened. It seems suspicious tbh.. no prior announcement, just sudden domain change out of nowhere. I understand that apparently the url was owned by a mod no longer with the .win communities network?
They moved servers then, and people's password savers did not associate the new servers. If they remembered their password, they could get in. If they forgot... new accounts everywhere.
Also if you think P.W comp'd and are still on this site, then you arent understanding how these sites work. We are not just "sister sites" everything is linked through Single Sign on thru authentication.win Its basically the same concept as Reddit and Subreddits, only with different domains rather than urls.
I appreciate that people in the community are being aware, but the paranoia about a simple DNS change is getting a little over the top.
There’s been a lot of internal mod drama. The owner of the domain didn’t want to give the rights to anyone because it would end up in one particular mod’s hands. I don’t know which mod that is but the owner specifically did not want him having it for some reason.
The secondary reason for our rebrand is a precarious situation with the old domain. The TL;DR is that we don't have control over it, and we cannot risk that any longer.

Didn't they say not too long ago that if it was redirected or we had to register/sign in again that it was a trap or something to that effect?
Yes and now they are saying a rogue mod took down TDW.
He was doxxed in a hit piece. I can only imagine the death threats he is getting.
I remember reading that too.
What I find funny is that whole needing to sign in thing DID HAPPEN. It was a few months back. A bunch of people needed to make new accounts and such

Did you have to sign in again?
If so did you try a bad password?

It signed me out and took me maybe 5 tries to get to the right password. Rejected me every time until I got it right.

So it was that same rogue mod that took down TDW which the owner of the domain was concerned about?
Thanks for that post because I saw that warning as well.
