This entirely plausible outcome has already been front loaded with the unprecedented flooding China has experienced over the summer and the publication and reporting of satellite imagery of very alarming deformation of the dam. Should the dam "fail" few structural engineers and hydrologists would be surprised. Even another 200 year flood event would likely precipitate such an event.
Does Weather Warfare exist? Do indefensible kinetic Space Weapons exist? I have heard reports that the answers to both of these questions is Yes.
The dam also has a pitential weakness in the spillways. You'll notice the open ones change and usually only 6 are open. This is because debris can get in and jam the mechanism, so it must be cleaned all the time. During the height of the flood more spillways had to be open, increasing the chances of damage, and behind the dam it was a solid mass of debris.
All that dam needs is a series of little earthquakes or enough junk caught in a spillway route.
A lil slap from the ion cannons maybe
Rod of God anyone?
It'd be a tragedy if some space debris coincidentally slammed into it.
OH NO!
Anyway
