What does kek mean?
A full explanation of KEK, Pepe and the woo woo surrounding Trump. ;)
https://pepethefrogfaith.wordpress.com/
"kek" comes from the MMORPG World of Warcraft. People who played Horde could not speak to Alliance players. When they tried to it turned into gibberish. Saying "lol" as a Horde in chat turned it into "kek" for Alliance players. If Alliance players said "lol" it turned into "bur" for Horde players.
it means lol, but it derives from 4chan, its also name of egyptian frog god... so its reference to pepe the frog too

Thanks, I'm an Aussie who is trying to wrap my head around American lingo. Heard of 4chan, but that's about it. I am here because I am obsessed with the great man Donald J Trump.
you're welcome!
Thanks Carrie. Fellow australian here.
you are SO welcome. You'll find out a LOT more about just how epic and great DJT truly is.
I have been around since 2016, but have been on these kind of sites for about 6 months. I had to avoid the doomers, so here I am.
I’ve heard different explanations for KEK.
regarding no 2. Nope, that's wrong.
On a korean keyboard, the right side of the keyboard are ALL vowels, and the left side all consonants. https://grrrltraveler.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/hangul-keyboard.jpg
Using KEK on a Korean keyboard would yield ㅏ다 which firstly, is impossible the first character is sounds like "ah" the second is a combination of "t/d" and "ah". so if written correctly, you'd read it "ah-dah"
But you cannot write Korean vowels without a preceding consonant or place holding silent consonant. e.g. 아다
We might note that Korean does have its own set of imojis, tho.
Eg. ㅇㅜ ㄴ Bowing person, (head, hands bent on knees)
If you write kek in Korean (phonetically) you get 켁 ("kek").
Thanks for the heads up.
Reddy for kekm8?
Before i knew the whole story, i always considered kek, like, a little knowing giggle and a side eye ??
Pretty sure it's from World of Warcraft actually, but it gained popularity on 4chan for sure.
Yep, horde players saying "lol" in Orcish turns into "kek" for Alliance/Common
oh i think you're right
upvote for asking what kek means. Welcome, newborn!
I heard it was "lol" in Korean
Thanks pede.
uh, no. Cannot even pronounce that in Korean, not really. (The final Korean constant 'k/g' is a non-plosive, unlike the English k.
it comes from gamer lingo, transposing the LOL to KEK.
