Bacterial pneumonia was the #1 cause of death... absent of this, according to the research, it was pointed that most deaths wouldn't have occurred.
That being said, OP's graphic is <misleading> because the study and findings themselves do not point towards 'masks' being the cause, however I think we can piece this together as warranting further investigation.
I wear cloth surgical masks, re-used and even rarely wash my cloth masks. Why? Because I am lazy, and I don't wear my mask on a regular basis unless I am entering a restaurant (that requires masks) or store.
I don't think we need to find a study that 100% defines a link, because it is hard to look past the fact that we are all touching these masks and not practicing the standard procedures you see in a 'clean' environment, such as a healthcare setting.
"If, as these results imply, bacteria can remain viable on filters for several days, wearers should be informed ofthe risks ofreusing respirators and surgical masks."
For those looking to do research, I suggest filtering by date and looking for journals and studies conducted prior to 2017/2018.
These masks are fucking filthy. They refuse to study the effects of long term wear of cloth masks because you can be 100% certain the science is against it.
I like how you don't both to read the comments which provided said link:
