Autists are causing shorted stock to go up in price. Short sales are the act by which you borrow money to buy stock and sell stock hoping to pocket the excess as the price of the stock falls. The catch is shorted stock has to be bought back regardless of price. The price these hedge funds have to pay is in the billions because the price rose instead of fell.
