Block them.
If you deport them, they'll know it. They'll create a new name and come back and shill some more. If you block them, they'll be talking in a vacuum.

I agree! Shills are all about instant gratification, so I think it would greatly reduce the shill posts.
Plus, it would help newbies to lurk for a while and learn how things work around here before starting to make posts. I also think that would be good for the overall flow of the board.
Lots of handshake accounts here in the last two weeks. Either refugees from TD or shills. I would definitely appreciate a quarantine for creating posts until they earned upvotes.

On voat you had to earn 100 credit points before being allowed to create a post. And any upvotes on QRV didn't count. The shills were there anyway, but at least it helped a little.
True. 20 seems like a reasonable lower threshold to strike a balance, especially with less traffic (if that is the case). 100 could take a while for a lurker who belongs here, anyway, but a simple barrier to force positive participation for leftard committee shills before posting is in order.

I wasn't sure what to do about the x-rated stuff I clicked on in new. Blocking them sounds like a good answer but what can you do so no one else has to see that crap?.. wasn't sure what the choices meant.

When a board is intentionally flooded with shills you lose oversight, because they upvote their crap and good content gets lost. Although I believe in free speech, you must have a tool to deal with those attacks.
