Obelisks represented "sun rays" at one time but I'd wager they were meant to symbolize the phallus. Phallic gods are found in nearly every ancient culture, but they were reformed over time to represent less sexual ideas. Baal, Osiris, Dionysus, Bacchus, etc. are all meant to symbolize the importance of the male sexual organ because it is the key to reproduction. It's an interesting topic that became taboo over time.

Yes, I have read about that recently. It's quite frightening.
If you wanted to convince people that human reproduction is killing the earth, you would convince them that their worship of phallic gods was actually just worship of the sun's rays, festivals, wine, or any other seemingly non-threatening characteristics. This is also why so many cultures worshipped animals like bulls, goats, and lions, since they all are known for their fecundity. And this is probably why King Tut was found with his penis embalmed in an erect position, yet you only hear about the gold. It represented Osiris' reproductive energy, and that's why you often see murals depicting Osiris with an erect penis. I wrote a lengthy paper about this in college, so I have tons of examples.

Egypt, Egypt, Egypt.... yeah no. Let’s be honest here, who wrote that history? How does Axum fit into said narrative? How does the nubs, the metal clamps, Baalbek and the even larger blocks fit the so called story. I’m astounded by the Indian temples with precision present day tech is unable to produce. Across the globe there are repeating pyramidal structures, geometric designs, carved bedrock that shares the same striations, and obvious drilling that smacks of laser tech. Was any of this in our college courses? Nope, not even at the Ivy League Universities.
