That is why the military is guarding federal buildings - they have seized the assets and are guarding them until the liquidation period is up.

I think its two-fold..I think Nancy wants them there because she thinks when everything comes out that they (the NG) will be there to protect them from the massess and possible arrests? And I think the military is ok because they know whats coming, and having all ducks in a row (with razor wire) for easy plucking is good strategy.
