Think about it, no other series of movies have ever had so much latent and hidden symbology and subtext, I mean it was so much that it became a publicly know thing even with NPC's...
edit: when you are good and have a good message but live in a bad guy world, trying to have obvious goodguys deliver that good message is likely to fail to the point of the message never even getting close to being spoken..
If you however use the bad guys and let them think they are making a hidden bad guy message, many things suddenly become much more possible.
