Seven Wonders of the ancient world
7 was considered a God number in ancient Egypt. The Pharaoh usually ordered things in groups of multiples of 7. For a time, 7 was not even used in writings for the people of Egypt.[2]
7 pure notes in the diatonic scale
7 trumpets, 7 kingdoms, 7 fallen angels. It's biblical, not sure exactly why God favors this number so much though.
Just read Seven is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual)
I was always taught that it was because it is 6+1. It isn't 7 that is special. It is 6.
Think about math. 6 is the first number that is evenly divisible by 2 different numbers, 2 or 3. The ancients used number systems based on 60, which is 6 x 10, the number of fingers we have. Even today, we still have 60x6 = 360 degrees in a circle. There are 60 minutes in an hour. 60 seconds in a minute. There are 12 months (6x2) in year.
6 is the key. 7 is sacred because it comes after 6 (the smallest, most divisible) and yet is divisible by nothing. Not true for 8, 9 or 10. And if you only have 10 fingers, you might not realize there are numbers beyond 10. That may seem odd today, but thousands of years ago when people were just learning about mathematics and number theory, it makes a lot of sense.
Even in the Bible, 6 is the number that matters. That is the number of work. The 7th day is rest. But to a primitive species, that number 7 must have looked magical.
Base 6 counting... the Sumerians? Now THAT is a rabbit hole....
nice
God creates the heavens and the Earth in six days, then rests on, blesses and sanctifies the seventh
Prime numbers like 7 tend to have more significance in both math and symbology.
Seven is also the number you would give Earth if one were to count from the outside of the solar system to the inside, as any celestial traveler from beyond our solar system would do as they approach our planet.
? Pluto, the First
? Neptune, the Second
? Uranus, the Third
?Saturn, the Fourth
?Jupiter, the Fifth
? Mars, the Sixth
? Earth, the Seventh
Rather odd then that scientists would suddenly decide Pluto isn't a planet, reducing that count from 7 to 6. Their arbitrary reasons for making this decision were unconvincing. The more likely explanation is a deliberate change in symbolism of Earth.
yeah i always wondered why they demoted pluto
Forgive someone 70 times 7!
7 points for a touchdown
LOL You’d think of that today
It is one of the prime numbers.

Seven Republicans joined 50 Democrats, but they fell 10 votes shy of the 67 needed to find Trump guilty.
There are only six colors in the rainbow. Blue is blue. There are three primary colors and three secondary colors.
