Myanmar's military doesn't give a shit about their people, all people in the US (Democrats, Trump supporters, whoever) have far, far more rights than the Myanmar people will have under the brutal dictatorship which is now taking over the country.
Everyone on earth has the same God/Creator-given rights. Governments may protect those or infringe on those, but we all have them.
They are not given to us by the Constitution; the Constitution was established to protect them. It may sound like semantics to some, but it's a very important distinction
Well, either way, to say that Myanmar citizens will have more rights under the military dictatorship than people will in the US is completely laughable and shows absolutely no understanding of the situation in Myanmar.
I get your point, and I agree with it, but I think you've missed mine.
Governments don't grant us rights. Our rights are God-given and inalienable. Just because our Constitution wrote it in as a guarantee doesn't mean everyone around the world don't have the same rights.
The question is whether people act on it and practice those rights
OK yes, I do also agree with you. Human rights are what we are entitled to no matter what, and it's up to governments whether or not to uphold those rights.
Well your reply shows some extreme ignorance in its own right doesn’t it?
Are people more free when their votes aren’t counted? Was the American people’s voices heard during the election or after? Are you more free when as admitted cabal of powerful corporations, oligarchs, foreign govts and politicians have more say in the outcome of your countries election than if your votes were counted correctly? A big fat nope.
The same propaganda machine that runs here is in play in Myanmar so only the useful idiots are out protesting the the arrests. Are you taking Biden’s side here?
Looks like it to me. While Myanmar is barely a 2nd world country, at least they have leaders within the military willing to do what is right regardless of the expected fake outcry from western media and govts made up of secret society members, foreign money and influence, etc.
I don’t feel free. My vote didn’t count. The will of the people wasn’t respected or honored. My brother lives in the next country over and the majority of Myanmar is very happy with the current situation and new fair elections.
The people's votes didn't count in Myanmar either, the military's claims of voter fraud are completely bogus. The military aren't doing "what's right" at all, they're taking power by force for no reason other than their own personal gain.
This isn't a case of taking Biden's side, I can guarantee Trump would be just as much against the coup if it happened during his tenure.
Your brother who lives in the next country over has no idea what he's talking about. To say "The majority of the Myanmar people are happy" is a sick joke. Over 100,000 people protesting yesterday, including doctors, teachers, celebrities, even police switching sides, and now rubber bullets being used and possibly live rounds. It's an extremely sad situation for all people of Myanmar that will hopefully be resolved without any more bloodshed.
Absolute nonsense.

Just a slight correction for you, if I may.
