I don't know if it was done on purpose or not, but I don't think it matters because the whole thing is such a joke. Facts don't matter, law and rules don't mean anything. Voting on the constitutionality of something doesn't make it so, and none of the senators who voted for it would be persuaded by evidence anyway.

I'm open to the possibility that Trump's team will finally be able to present some evidence of election fraud or even the democrat's own calls for violence, but leaky Leahy will just change the rules and shut it down.
