As I predicted on another thread, the near-vertical red line from India is accompanied by another near-vertical red line west of Greenland that goes to the US East Coast; these represent the two ends of the same single route. Since the earth is a spheroid, going almost over the north pole is actually the shortest route between these two points, and is the expected result. On a Mercator projection, this becomes an extremely distorted elliptical path because Mercator is not concerned about accurate distance near the poles, so it looks deceptive. Space Force can help you with this one.
