Update: heavy power outages in Illinois (primarily Chicago area) & another explosion in NYC.
Cover-story seems to be that it was a manhole explosion but I've seen posts on both Reddit & Twitter claiming that a heavy amount of firetruck were already present for a week.

Sewer gas build ups can be ignited by underground electrical wiring causing man hole covers to shoot up in the air and cause larger fires as it finds more fuel to burn. Carbon monoxide is a byproduct of combustion. So if there was a smoldering electrical fire it could generate a lot of CO.

The initial story was that it was nothing. There was another in NYC & heavy power-outages in Illinois, primarily Chicago area (althoigh that one might just be weather related). Posters on both Twitter & Reddit have said it was odd because there lights had been seriously flickering for the last week & firetruck had been heavily present for the last few days.
You can go ahead and come to that conclusion if you’d like.
Thought we all had learned by now that almost nothing is as it seems and to question everything.

No, you aren’t. You seem to think the world revolves around you, and forget that message boards have an information flow with different people coming and going at different times such that repeating posts will get to different groups and additional minds / information sources. My guess is you are either autistic or narcissistic (since both have difficulty thinking about other people benefiting from things that inconvenience them). Either way, you are not “good”. I would say you are more a “work in progress”.
