MODS can we get a sticky? This is extremely important.
EDIT: Appeal to mods
I bet we will discover one of these companies is where Parler is moving to... or rather was moving to. As soon as they are back up they will go down again and that will be the end of Parler. Bet me this isn't linked to shutting someone down. We will find out soon. It won't take a week or two and they will have their CEOs in place etc then shit will go BOOM.
Possible.
Keep in mind what 8chan did when they moved to 8kun.
They had a data center kick them out - and CloudFlare cancelled them.
They found a new home and magically VanwaTech popped up and could handle DDoS attacks CloudFlare ( supposedly the industry standard / most capable ) couldn’t. At work I heard rumors CloudFlare didn’t cancel 8chan cuz of some PC / Cancel Culture reason - they cancelled because attacks on 8chan were so staggeringly intensely they affected the entire CloudFlare infrastructure and their service of other clients was impacted.
Now I did digs on VanwaTech. I challenge you to find info.
If you are not aware - Ron Watkins was also leading HUGE development features at scales nobody else could for CloudFlare. Features like Varnish and Polish.
I used to be an IRC channel warrior in the 90s. At one point I ran business involved in IRC. We got DOS attacks all the time. I guess you could even say I'm an expert on them. Although some people take it to a whole new level these days. I was a big shot with my 128k bonded ISDN line back in the day. Its really all about how they have their router filtering setup.
Its weird but truth is if someone separated out 8kun and did a custom setup you could probibly protect it better than with a big setup like cloudflare has. Cloudflare is actually vulnerable because they are too big and use standard setups for everyone.
In the end this is what we all need to do. We just need to build our own crap from the ground up. I have a site I'm going to start soon and I'm just going to do everything myself. No point in bothering with cloud services etc. When I piss off the powers that be, and I will anger them greatly, they will just have me shut off if I'm not setup right. IE Parler.
Can't stop the signal.... :) u/#lightning
I'm very good at taking things offline.
I perfected Smurf Attacks and SlowLorris - so without much effort I can crap out a lof of sites.
The key with what was happening to 9chan was it was huge. We are talking terabyte attacks randomizing from all over the world and posing as valid traffic before dumping GET / POST responses in. It was huge. The Fact VanwaTech knew how to mitigate it as well as deal with it all was impressive. I've seen HAProxy and more advanced MPM Handlers do a good job - but when the attackers are using unique packets from randomized locations we get into a serious State-Actor level of capability.
Hehe. I was there when smurf was invented. Like literally a friend of a friend knew the guys that came up with it. My favorite tool was Pepsi. I met(online) the guy that made it. I'm not really up to date on the new stuff from the past decade or so. Once I left IRC and my admin work was just for myself I didn't have much reason to keep current with DOS attacks.
My first question would be are the people attacking me the ones fixing my problem? Meaning did the fix work so well because it was a setup to gain access to my traffic.
Seems more likely that Q sent him to the right people or perhaps sent the right people to fix the problem. Meaning I wonder if that company just ran the feed through a hardened government network.
Still what I've been wondering is why is Q silent? Seems to me its possible with Biden in as POTUS that might have compromised Q's ability to speak even over whatever he has setup with 8kun.
Whatever method they might have to send a message is probibly with like a burner phone etc. Its 1-2 use type stuff which means they don't want to waste it or risk being tracked for pointless posts so they are holding back until they need to pass on mission critical info. OR just holding back until being traced doesn't matter any more.
Hopefully we will find out soon.
