The Message version of this passage describes it as the Lord providing those who wait on Him with "fresh strength". I like the idea of that. Renewed, restored, replenished - with FRESH strength.
This is one of my favorite verses. I first heard this right after I returned to the Loving Arms of the LORD. My body and mind were still suffering from the effects of meth addiction. I weighed about 112 lbs. and I was having trouble organizing my thoughts. I held onto my faith in Jesus like a pitbull on a steak bone. I was waiting on the LORD for healing. I never expected to be completely healed. That was ok.
But reading this verse and then shortly thereafter, hearing it in Church, gave me so much encouragement. I can't express in words how it made me feel.
Waiting isn’t easy but it’s necessarily to build patience. Thanks for the uplifting Scripture.
When a person fills up the gas tank on his car, he is parked and his motor is off. He is waiting.
