(1) Members of Congress cannot be impeached. They can only be removed from office by 2/3 majority vote of their own chamber.

(2) The courts have always punted when presented with the question of what Congress can do, legally, in these types of things. Will this time be different? Beats me.

However, to the extent they were engaged in an unlawful coup/insurrection, with the help of foreign governments who cyber attacked the vote so they could change who was elected, that is an act of war by the foreigners and an act of treason by the Americans who participated (federal, state, other). That is definitely prosecutable, by military tribunals.

Why not? They SWORE an OATH when sworn in.

By section 9A of the Hatch Act of 1939, a federal employee was disqualified from accepting or holding any position in the Federal Government or the District of Columbia if he belonged to an organization that he knew advocated the overthrow of our constitutional form of government. The 79th Congress followed up this provision with a rider to its appropriation acts forbidding the use of any appropriated funds to pay the salary of any person who advocated, or belonged to an organization which advocated the overthrow of the government by force, or of any person who engaged in a strike or who belonged to an organization which asserted the right to strike against the government. These provisos ultimately wound up in permanent law requiring all government employees to take oaths disclaiming either disloyalty or strikes as a device for dealing with the government as an employer.

From my knowledge they can blatantly lie on the floor and nothing can happen to them. They have some sort of protection from prosecution while in the Capitol.
