I apologize for my flippant comment, and I have educated myself. I am a veteran myself, and female. I also have many, many veterans in my family, dating back to the Revolutionary War, and including a Medal of Honor winner. Not to be in a pissing contest, but I am just sick of the anti-white agenda being pushed everywhere in our culture today that seeks to erase white men. And you have to admit that picture is not representative of the true racial breakdown of the military, which is still 70% white male.
All I was trying to say, jokingly, is that if that picture truly represents the racial and gender makeup of today's military, then maybe white men are actually under-represented. Because there are only so many billets. One group goes up, another goes down.
Yes, there are/were institutional barriers that have historically limited minorities and women's participation in the military. Women and minorities have stepped up WHEN THEY COULD, but even now, with most institutional barriers gone (for example, women in combat), wouldn't you expect the military to be 50/50 male/female? But it's not, it's more like 80/20 at best. And that's okay.
I know. I've administered diversity recruitment programs as a civilian. No matter how hard an institution tries to be representative, you cannot control personal preferences.
I didn't and would never downplay any military member's service or family sacrifice. Or engage in one upsmanship, but you brought up your family's servce first. Likewise, I don't appreciate you downplaying the Medal of Honor.
P.S. I can probably make a very good guess as to what's really go on in that photo, but it's a combination of propaganda and hate facts so I won't go into it here.
What does this guy care about fulfilling an oath? They didn’t stop the country from being turned over to China or the guy who cheated the election. Enemies both foreign and domestic.
I admired our military while I was still ignorant. People coming out told me it was just good PR. The barracks is a great place for fucking now and there's enough late-teen/young-adult drama to declare it the new college.
They're trying to make the military a safe place to work.
Wow. How many women and minorities can they cram into 1 photo.
On the other hand, it's about time women and minorities stepped up. White men have sacrificed more than their share to preserve our country.

Wow, great post. Thank you to your whole family for their service. Remember also those who stand and wait; they serve too.

Where we go one, we go all
I thought Flynn was in charge of the Pacific fleet
Flynn is Army
When is he assuming command?
100% of what you said is legit.

Well said!
