hello, im watching the impeachment trial for the past 4days and i have a question on my mind on these kind of proceedings. Since im not from US, im not very familiar with legal proceedings in US so if there are GA users that are (perhaps someone who is studying law or even a lawyer) is there any kind of appeal possible for DJT team like appeal to supreme court or something like that if DJT was convicted and impeached? Would the case by over?
Edit: Thanks for all the answers made some things clear to me, going to research this a bit more.Very interesting stuff.
I do not have an answer to your question however this was over before it started. In order to convict it needs to be 2/3rds so they need 17 more people to vote to impeach him that we know will not do so. Earlier they only needed 50% to go forward, they need 2/3 to take it home which they will never get.
They did not convince those not wanting to do this in the first place, to start to think, "You know what? Yeah I guess I do got TDS and we should do this"
It is all for show :D - Although you do raise a good question I am also curious to the answer of it if ever did go that far.
90% of senators voted in favor of the fraulent vote. Only a handful voted against.
Probably won't convict on the impeachment, but it would not shock me if they did. Only need about a dozen RINOs to flip.
They need 17 to flip.
They already have Romney, Collins, Murkowski, and a couple others.
