They are claiming that they need 2/3 in the Senate to convict and remove from office, but only 50% + 1 to disqualify from future office.
What if they get around 55%?
The counter-argument will be that 50% + 1 was not enough -- still need 2/3. In fact, that point was brought up today.
It will just be another question left unanswered.
They are making up the rules as they go.
Do Senators get an opportunity to question constitutional legality of that or will they simply have a partisan vote on it?
