I'm happy about it too, but my wife looked at me sideways (I will explain).
As soon as I heard it I was like, 'What??? They don't want to let him show the election fraud evidence.'
To me its never been an issue of him being convicted, its been get all the evidence out there. If they convicted, people would have reacted, we would have all gone off and boom, Civil War.
I'm super happy about the results, just a little disappointed we didn't get more out there than they did. Still, a win is a win, and this was a super win!
His lawyers continuously side stepped any election fraud landmines, yesterday. The Dems were baiting them to go into it, but they avoided it. I don't think they had any intention of talking about the election fraud in this particular forum. From what I saw from his lawyers, it seems like they wanted this over and done with as soon as possible. Trump praised them, which means that's what HE ultimately wanted.
I think Plan A was to get him acquitted swiftly... why his lawyers only took 2.5 hours instead of the full 16.
Dems voted for witnesses. Trump called their bluff by showing a list of 301+ witnesses including Nancy Pelosi. This would have made the trial last for months. It would have hurt the Dems and exposed all sorts of stuff.
So the Dems backtracked and went went Trump's original and preferred plan. This is classic Trump. He put them in a corner where they had 2 choices. Either way they would lose and he would win. They got to choose which way they wanted to lose, and Trump made sure to set it up to make them choose which way HE wanted it to go.
It's still kindof wild to me that they voted for witnesses and then clumsily scratched that (not even sure technically how) as soon as Trump laid out the 300+ witnesses threat. They were scared.
100%, bunny. This, combined with POTUS's victory statement, alluding to good things coming in the next few months, gives me lots of hope! I can't wait!
Sounds good so far.
