Actually, I have less problem understanding people if I can see their face, but the audio synchronation needs to be good. For example, my TV's audio is going through a receiver so it is delayed by about 0.2 seconds. That causes me a great deal of problems. Cell Phone video sometimes isn't good enough for me to see the speakers face properly. Btw, I just figured out three years ago that I have been using some form of lip reading when I talk with someone.
Same here! You described my situation exactly. When I'm in a meeting, I need to be in a location were I can see everyone. If I'm not, then I can't follow the meeting. I'm missing too much data. I think I asked you before, but are you on the spectrum also?
Too bad that I can't understand what is being said. My hearing is going plus I'm autistic and have some problems parsing speech to begin with :(
We need more autists on this forum, not less :)

I'm not autistic, just antisocial, every time I speak to someone I always look at their mouths, never the eyes. Been doing it all my life.
I have a similar issue, masks make it nearly impossible to understand people because I can't see their face
I hate going out in public anymore. It's so stressful not being able to really understand what people are saying :(
I just keep asking "What?" multiple times. Usually they finally drop the mask to talk to me. Kek.
