All the quotes I have seen come from the chat of his nightly chat videos, which is a very interesting way of communicating. That being said George news is still pure hopium at this point.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a connection with 8kun. If I'm remembering correctly, it was 8kun.org that forwarded to his website, not 8kun.top. And if that's correct, then anyone can buy a similar domain and forward it to their site.
If I remember right the connection was when George news was registered matches up with when q started posting and that 8kan was in the account name on YouTube which was later changed to George news. This is all circumstantial evidence but the mods keep sticking posts about them so maybe they know something we don't.
