Jesus commanded that that the disciples "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit".
Not go and build buildings and worship a man that says you can talk to God through him. That's man's religion, not Gods.
No, not exactly. First of all, Jesus WILLINGLY died and His death was indeed a requirement. He was a sacrifice for ALL. Prior to Christianity, Jewish people were required to sacrifice a perfect lamb as an atonement for their sin. They did so regularly, because they sinned regularly. When Jesus came as a fulfillment of prophesy, He became the ultimate and only necessary sacrifice for those who believed. No more sacrificing lambs. His blood covered ALL sinners. His gift is a free gift for any who care to believe and accept it. It was not that God couldn't save Him. He IS God, after all. It's that a blood sacrifice is required to atone for sin and Jesus willingly died a torturous death so you and I and anyone who believes in Him, shall have forgiveness of our sins and be reconciled to God for eternity.
I suggest a non denominational church, they are a bit less stuffy, I grew up southern Baptist and was agnostic for a big chunk of my life after that, I mean you haven't lived until your 10 years old visiting a church in Arkansas and a man in the pew in front of you starts speaking in tongues... It's a bit offputting. My grandmother didn't bat an eyelash. I didn't pick back up on religion again until things started to look a bit like the book of revelation, and I found a nice, small non denominational Christian based church, and I'm much better suited to it.

Are the lambs code for children?
Good golly, no. They are lambs - four legged animals - baby sheep.
