Without power, we will likely not make it much longer. Below freezing temps inside and outside, dead animals, livestock, and humans are piling up. It's getting to be very hard to "trust" anyone or anything any longer.

Because our homes are not built for such weather extremes! Our roads are built to shed water, so they become crowned death traps to drive on. Bring your ass down here and lets see how tough you are! I bet your one of those who cries when the heat gets above 80 degrees in the summer! How about you STFU you POS!
Yes, he was being a jerk but don't let anyone trigger you into feeling more stress and anger. Doesn't do anything but harm you.
Are the roads drivable near you?
Not yet, only around the major cities and the interstates, but thankfully we are forecast to get up to 37 today, so there is a chance for some thawing.
Before casting gsy shade, im right in the fucking MIDDLE of the cold blob.
I was out, in NEGATIVE 8 degrees 2 days ago splitting frozen solid hickory to heat the house.
And before moving here, i lived my entire life in CA.
I worked outside every year in 100+ as a carpenter.
You don't know me personally, or how much of a badass i am.
Gtfo with that projection
Did you stop to think most folks in Texas don't have fireplaces? I doubt it, but since your such a"bad ass", maybe you can protect the millions of people in danger all by yourself. We live months on end above a hundred degrees every single year. That doesn't make someone a bad ass!
Bully for you. Try not being a dickhole in the future.
I moved to Texas from North Idaho. I have never been as cold as I was this week. The houses are not built for the cold here. We had wood and a fireplace but it's more decorative. We were prepared but it was still horrible. I kept asking myself how this happened. We trusted the idiots who said it would be at the very worst rolling blackouts. Those people lied!! My power was off for 4 days in below freezing temperatures.
I am glad you are still with us. I tried to explain this same thing and received a lot of BS comments about how we are being "whiners". Maybe Inuits can survive for 100+ hours of below freezing and close to 0 degree temps, but most of the rest of us can't. Thank GOD we finally have power back on.
