I'll give Ted credit because he did admit he was planning to stay until Sunday, but decided to come back the next day. That shows he had a conscious.

Ted would also have gladly gone on CNN to debate Fredo and take a liberal beating because Ted has a spine, but the last time he was on he destroyed Fredo. So he is probably banned.
And for the people who insist he should have been out doing physical labor trying to help, I disagree. He would help more people being on the computer and phone all day as a Senator to make sure things were getting done, investigate, demand aid, etc...
So that begs the question - would the media be hassling him if he flew to a cold state like Iowa to stay with family and work remotely where he had consistent power and phone? Probably not. ?

He got his kids out of the cold. He had the means to do this when his power went out. In a different thread, a family living in a trailer, did not have the means. One of their kids died. A lot of people are blaming the parents for not doing enough. Doing what with what means? They had none.
But we always find ourselves playing Monday morning QB in both cases. If you were Ted would you have made sure your family got out of a potential life threatening situation, or would you have played the optics game?
He's a senator, most senators LIVE IN DC, they don't even live in their home state. If he was a state senator or the governor it might have some meaning. Were the CA senators in CA during the wildfires???
