Yeah, I took German in high school and failed German 2 two times. I also failed a lot of English classes and made them up etc. I suck at languages. The only reason I can even write in English fairly well now is I spent like 5 years on IRC typing to people in the late 90s.
Taxes can be fixed. Economies can be reved up. Let's just say I'm considering giving up my lazy ways and starting a business. My goal would be to move there after I have that going. Although I admit one of my goals is to move there to avoid crazy stupid American taxes so I'll have to look closer at their tax situations. I'm not going anywhere that is just going to try and milk me for money.
It just seems like maybe Poland is more traditional. Even if I don't move there I'm for sure going to visit.
Poland is indeed more on the traditional side, family values and all.
But the tax situation is garbage and there's little opportunity.
America is among the most free when it comes to everything, including taxation. Switzerland is the closest pendant in all of Europe, bar perhaps Malta which only works for obscenely rich people due to the cost of living.
There are some "tax free" countries, but those usually don't have much opportunity unless you can work 100% remotely. And even then, I'd consider building wealth and lobbying for the abolition of all coerced taxation.
What we have right now will go down in history as "Slavery meets Stockholm Syndrome".
