They generally aren't asking for a source in order to read and counter the information, they are generally seeking a label to smear the entire topic. Other fallacies are that if any copy of a video can be found online somewhere, it is not censored. The mental gymnastics can be infuriating, making me often wonder how many are actually not even real people.
Totally agree.
I just go with the Socratic method. I never expect them to reply they’ve been convinced of anything, but I hope at some later time, they think back to our exchange and maybe do some thinking based on reason instead of emotion.
Lately, in normie forums I wind up spending most time pointing out fallacious reasoning, and deflecting insults.
I mostly avoid sources unless there's some legitimacy to the request.
socratic really is great. cos then you are not asserting anything but leaving it up to them to fill in the blanks
