Sounds like Biden is reneging on that promise to step aside. Why else would these threats be necessary? But it’s not a simple task to push him out.
Read Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. This is a messy process. It is the stuff of dramas. A sitting President, family, and allies could call it a coup. Some people might say as the two sides square off it is a civil war
A President can only be removed temporarily by the V.P. and a majority of the Cabinet. The V.P. Is then Acting President. All the President has to do to resume the role is submit a letter saying whatever disability claimed by the V.P. and the Cabinet does not, or no longer exists. Now the V.P. And the Cabinet either back down or re-file their claim the President must be removed. If they re-file then a vote by both Houses is triggered within 21 days and agreement by two thirds of each chamber is required to remove the President.
A substantial amount of Republicans would need to vote to remove Biden. What are the chances they will?
