I have one problem with the graphic. It makes it seem as though SPECOPS encapsulates the whole of conventional forces.
That is a misrepresentation, the "outside the box" should be an entirely separate dot. In normal military doctrine, intel gathered by SPECOPS may inform a commander's plan or irregular forces under SPECOPS control may be integral to the overall plan. Conventional forces are not necessarily informed about or materially come under control of SPECOPS.
Is this an honest mistake in attempting to illustrate "out of the box" thinking, or is this comms indicating that conventional forces are in fact under control of SPECOPS command?
