I've been using Brave then using the Quant search engine. Saved it as an "app" to my home screen. No issues. I'm surprised google EVER allowed people on this site site to begin with lol.
probably your anti-virus, avast must have updated and pushed their listings out today - and they appear to have included authentication.win in their blacklists.
if you whitelist it in your antivirus settings you should be good.

Linux is a better OS if you want to avoid this type of interference.
Don't use Google. The only time I use it is when I have to use it with my work e-mail. I've warned my employer to ditch it, but until it completely goes down, I don't think anything will happen.
Why are you still using it? Duck Duck go!
This is the real question here. And the real solution: Stop using Google...both as a search engine and a web browser.
Duckduckgo or Quant on Brave, or even Firefox (which may be supect lately) are what I use. Never had a problem.
Qwant on Brave has been my switch. I was on DDG for a bit before getting here.
Duck Duck Go or Yandex FTW.
It was the same for me. Now I use Brave and Duck Duck Go as my search engine - problem free. :)
I had the same issue, write in the antivirus exceptions this ---> https://authentication.win/
Change your search engine in settings!

Yandex browser, almost identical to Google Chrome and you can use same extensions etc.
But it's not Chrome.
Use Brave browser. Then type greatawakening.win
I just had to do this on my desktop 2 minutes ago. Antivirus was trying to block it.
Maybe use Firefox or DuckDuckGo.
