I have a 6 yr old and he has been in speech therapy at school. He goes every day all day all year. Private Christian Trinity. Well we had conferences. She beleives Liam has Apraxia of speech. It's can never be cured per say. But it can be managed. I'm scared walking into untreaded territory.
I messaged the mods about this 3 days ago about where to post this to avoid a suspension. So if this needs deleted and replaced somewhere else please let me know and I'll move it. I never got a response from any of the mods so accept my apology if I posted in the wrong place.

My child also had apraxia. Check out Nancy Kaufman up near Detroit. Her technique is world famous. Moreover, she is a delightful person to work with.
Most likely she will want you and your son to attend her clinic for a week of intensive therapy after which she will set you up with a therapy plan to take home and implement with your community SLP.
Also, consider looking for a local SLP that specializes in apraxia (and hopefully also practices Nancy's technique). For different reasons I have had two of my kids in intensive therapy (SLP, PT, OT) for well over 10 years now, and one thing is clear: just because someone has an education in therapy techniques, that doesn't mean that they are actually skilled at working with clients or that their training / ability matches with your child.
A good therapist can make a HUGE difference. A great therapist can be life changing.
