If you check the YT streams, you will see there was very little donating going on. Almost all of the superchats are from a certain account which appears to be associated with George - meaning they are donating to themselves.
I have watched George for weeks, and they have not once solicited donations. Once or twice per stream they link to their merch store, but that's it. Even X22 comes across as more pitchy.
That is (only) one part of Evspra's case that does not add up, in my opinion.
The merch selling do not concern me not one bit, I commented that on another post.
I see nothing wrong with selling merch, having sponsors or even asking for donations if providing an useful service, such as X22 does, we're not communists after all, I find it silly when people go up in arms whenever someone does so, but then complain about leftists demanding "free" stuff.
No, the biggest problem is them appropriating videos as if they were their own, and way worse, the way they handled people bringing this up, as in, banning them immediately, that's the problem there.
Exactly, but when you come out and actually say "noooo please don't donate!" it feels more like someone trying to look humble, and therefore only foster more donations by good willing people.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but one can turn superchats off on their live-streams no? so if they REALLY don't want people donating, why don't they turn it off?
Yeah, clever way to paint yourself as a good guy isn't it? what did you expect? for them to go:
"YES!! KEEP DONATING!! YEEEESSSSS!!" *rubs hands together*

I don't think it has been proven they are appropriating videos.
They could just not comment on the donations.

Good point. Very good point.
